Snowmobiling

Tip: Use our interactive map to locate specific trails!

The McHenry County Conservation District has over 17 miles of snowmobile trails in Glacial Park and along the Prairie Trail that connect with numerous County trails. When snowmobile trails are open, The Prairie Trail North in Glacial Park and Rush Creek horse trail are closed to all other recreational activities.

Snowmobile trails are open in the winter when there is at least 4" of snowfall on frozen ground; 6" snow on unfrozen ground.

County snowmobile trails and MCCD trails do not open until December 10th, even if there is snow before this date.
