Natural Wonders Art Exhibit
WHERE: Prairieview Education Center
WHEN: May 5 - June 30, 2008
Natural Wonders explores the distinctive qualities inherent in artworks having an intimate, closely-focused perspective. The smaller scale of these works pulls spectators nearer, igniting a heightened aesthetic experience between viewer and object and enticing the observer into a close examination of exquisite details often overlooked in large-scale works. As a group, these 60 small-scale works on paper and sculpture from the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI yield remarkably large views of the natural world.

"Nature Art" Exhibit by Christina Roberts
and Artist Reception
Christina Roberts Artist Reception: July 13, 1 - 3 p.m.
Exhibit Open: July 13 - August 30
Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake
Christina combines a love of gardening and a reverence of nature when creating her artwork. Her art is an extension of her investigation and reflection of the natural world. Although Christina works in many mediums, her work usually consists of the repetitive use of mark-making. She finds this use of mark-making, whether it be pointillism or chipping away at a block print, allows her to reflect on her subject and is almost meditative.
