Cache Your Way Across McHenry County - Summer 2008
This new, summer long District event began June 1, 2008 and runs thru the end of August. A mix of traditional geocaches and ecocaches were hidden throughout 14 MCCD sites. Participants had all summer to locate as many as they can. All participants received a prize and there was a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the season.
Hooked on Fishing - June 2008
This annual MCCD Police Department event is held in conjunction with the Illinois Free Fishing Days. Participants can compete for the most fish caught, the smallest fish caught and the largest fish caught. McHenry County Conservation District staff is on hand to help and fishing gear is available. The Hollows event is co-sponsored by the Crystal Lake Anglers.
Geocache Rally - May 2008
Experienced geocachers and beginners alike came out for this high tech scavenger hunt held at Pleasant Valley. Using GPS units, geocachers search for caches, each of which contained a surprise and a question throughout the Pleasant Valley site in Woodstock.
Geocache Rally - October 2007
Experienced geocachers and beginners alike came out for this high tech scavenger hunt held at Coral Woods. Using GPS units, geocachers search for caches, each of which contained a surprise and a question throughout the Coral Woods site in Marengo. In addition, participants got to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage of the site's Sugar Maple Trees.
